British Values

BRITISH VALUES are taught through the curriculum, as well as the collective worship and RE themes.

Schools have a duty to actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. These values were first set out by the government in the ‘Prevent’ strategy in 2011.

By promoting and teaching British values, we aim to create harmony and appreciation of difference, ensuring that our children and young people understand the importance of respect and leave school fully prepared for life in modern Britain.
